Stephen is a 17 year old high school student and attending automotive technology classes while working a job in the field in addition to his studies. Stephen’s plan is to pursue further education and certification to establish his career in the automotive technology field.

Stephen is captain of his volleyball team, plays the drums for the school marching band and works full time. Stephen contributes extensively to his community by volunteering for charities at events where proceeds support non-profits. He volunteers at the fire department where his father was a captain.

Fire Chief Kenneth M. Furuno, of the Happauge Fire Department has known Stephen since he was a young child and says this about him, “it is inspiring to see Stephen so driven to accomplish his dream while still mourning the loss of his father” Chief Furono says it is rare to see a young man with a clear vision and drive to follow his own chosen path in life.
