Kieran is currently a freshman at Penn State University and has shifted his academic to Sports Journalism. He is the youngest of four children. Kieran and his two middle siblings are currently in college, and he is cognizant of the tremendous amount of financial pressure on him and his family. He shares that receiving a scholarship has helped to alleviate the stress as he acclimated to being a first-year college student.
Kieran has found that adjusting to college life has not allowed him to participate as actively in community service and extracurricular activities as he once had. He shares that he just recently joined Greek Life on campus and plans to participate in their philanthropic endeavors, specifically THON, which is committed to enhancing the lives of children and their families impacted by pediatric cancer.
Associate Professor Prakash Kumar says, “Throughout this last semester, Kieran demonstrated a curiosity for learning, leadership qualities, as well as a maturity and discipline that is not common in many students his age. He displays a strong commitment to engaging in his course material and collaboration with his peers.”
