Katelyn is on track to complete a bachelor’s degree in 2024 and would like to pursue a master’s degree in education. Her goal is to become a third grade teacher in her hometown of Peabody, Massachusetts. She recently got some experience as a substitute teacher there during a school break.
Katelyn strives for balance in her life that includes school, work, and spending time with family and friends. During school breaks, she works as a YMCA camp counselor with 5-7-year-olds.
Her professor, Shawn O’Neill, says that Katelyn is a consistently exceptional student with strong organizational skills, professionalism, and enthusiasm for her work. Deputy Fire Chief Jay Dowling cites Katelyn’s “heart, tenacity, and care” in the way she interacts with children.
