Jaxon’s career goal is to help the farming community in rural areas by offering mechanical knowledge to fix and maintain farm equipment. In addition to tuition and books, he will need tools to do this work. Jaxon’s father was also a mechanic.
Jaxon is active with 4-H, which focuses on responsibility, leadership, and community service. He has his own mowing business, and he mows the church property and yards of elderly residents for free. Jaxon is also a member of the Rolla High School football and basketball teams.
Greg Sohm, who served with Jaxon’s father on the Rolla Volunteer Fire Department, describes Jaxon as a self-starter who is community-oriented and always willing to help. Coach Cassie Thrall says that Jaxon has “a love of learning and the level of commitment necessary to succeed in college and beyond.”
