The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s prestigious Ronald J. Siarnicki Seal of Excellence is presented to individuals, groups, or fire, rescue, and/or EMS departments that demonstrate a commitment to the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives.
Receiving the Seal of Excellence confirms the recipients’ commitment to firefighter health and safety and the individual or organization’s contribution to reducing preventable line-of-duty death and injury.

Seal of Excellence Criteria
Consideration for being awarded the Seal of Excellence is based upon substantiated facts and information that the individual, group, or department has made a significant contribution toward firefighter safety. Demonstrated results related to this established criteria are also evaluated.
Uniformed career and volunteer personnel from the rank(s) of firefighter/EMT to Fire Chief and all non-uniformed personnel associated with fire, rescue, and/or EMS organizations are eligible to be considered and selected for this prestigious designation.
Application Process
Any individual or group that has demonstrated a commitment to firefighter health and safety and the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives is eligible to apply. Individuals may also nominate themselves and/or their organizations. NFFF Advocates will review all applications.
