Terry L. Myers‚ 50‚ a 33-year member of Vigilant Hose Company in Emmitsburg‚ died on February 15‚ 1999‚ after suffering a heart attack at the scene of a brush fire. He worked as a truck driver for a local manufacturing company and shared this skill as the operator of the department’s large fire engines. Emmitsburg is home to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park and the National Fire Academy.
Terry was an amazing man.He mentored a lot of young firefighters coming into the VHC , including myself when I joined in 1982.He is greatly missed by all . Thoughts and prayers to his family.
