Jimmy Randolph became ill while working the Buck Fire incident in the rural Sage area southeast of Hemet‚ California. He was hospitalized and died the next day on August 19‚ 2012‚ with his family by his side.
Randolph was a camp laborer housed at the Fenner Canyon Conservation Camp (CC#41). The camp’s primary mission is to provide inmate fire crews to CAL FIRE for fire suppression‚ pre-fire‚ and hazardous fuel reduction projects in Los Angeles‚ Kern‚ and San Bernardino Counties.
