Lieutenant Emilien L. Couture was born in Lewiston, Maine on May 30, 1926. He joined the Lewiston Fire Department on May 20, 1956. He died in the line-of-duty on May 9, 1967 at the age 40, after suffering from a heart attack while fighting a fire at 90 Biron Avenue.
