Brian W. Collins‚ 35‚ Assistant Chief of the River Oaks Volunteer Fire Department‚ died on February 15‚ 1999‚ while fighting a church fire. Two other firefighters died in the incident. Collins was also a 15-year veteran of the Fort Worth Fire Department where he founded the department’s fire prevention clown troupe. He served 19 years as a volunteer with River Oaks and was also the local Emergency Management Coordinator.
