Butch was a kind and caring man.
He joined the Rolling Fork Fire Department on March 10, 1997.
The Rolling Fork Fire Department is a volunteer fire department, and the people it serves live in a small town way out in the country. The department counts on volunteers like Butch. He had been a lieutenant in the department and helped start a water rescue in Nelson County by teaching scuba diving.
Butch was diagnosed with cancer in 2016. He stopped being able to fight fires, but he didn’t stop helping his community. He helped by doing traffic control and other things. He loved woodworking and would make items and donate them for benefits. He was always willing to help.
His family meant the world to him. He was a proud Papa of three grandchildren, whom he treasured
