Donald J. Regan‚ 47‚ firefighter‚ FDNY‚ Rescue 3. The 17-year FDNY veteran earned several citations and a medal for bravery. An air conditioner installer before joining the FDNY‚ his fellow firefighters depended on his skills whenever a major appliance needed fixing. When his four children were young and playing on four different baseball teams‚ he tried to make at least one inning of each game. When they were old enough to join the adult league‚ Regan played on the same team with them.

– Karla OnstottI was in basic training for the USAF when 9/11 happened. Less than a year later I was in the Middle East on a deployment in support of Operation Southern Watch and Enduring Freedom, the later being response to the 9/11 attacks.
In late May of 2002, while guarding a C-5 Galaxy that had landed at KCIA, the flight crew approached all that were standing guard that night with 9/11 remembrance bracelets. They were a lot like the Vietnam MIA, POW, KIA remembrance bracelets. I happened to be handed one with Donald Regan, FDNY on it. Oddly enough, I used to be a volunteer firefighter for a department in the suburbs of New Orleans, LA. I wore it for all my deployments with the military and every 9/11 afterwards.
As long as I live, Firefighter Regan, you will not be forgotten.

– Thomas BradyMany did not know the Donnie Regan that I and my twin brother Jim knew from little flower parish Brooklyn N.Y. —Even as a young 7th grader he was way beyond his young years. At a school punch ball game —when two of our classmates borrowed our bikes and played “Chickie” with them—my bike was banged up real bad… Donnie walked over to the 2 guys who took the bikes and told them flat out …”These bikes are going to be fixed up like new” and “you 2 are going to pay every penny for your rough-housing…or Else !!! That was Donnie Regan (already a man in the 7th grade)…. What a Guy. Our Hero Then—A Hero Forever in our Family.
