– Carrie WagnerI knew him as Jimmy long before he became a firefighter and before he was married. I remember the young man who had a crush on my friend. He was a gentleman. He was faithful to his beliefs and was just a wonderful good person in every way you could be good! I was living in another state watching as each of the two towers were hit just knowing there was so much death. I knew that there would be people I knew and loved who lost their lives because so many lived on Long Island and worked in the city. As the days that followed I learned of at least 13 people who were either people I knew well or my family did. When I heard each one I cried and when I heard about Jimmy my heart broke. That was enough and I knew there was so many broken hearts. They all deserved to live and watch their children grow up and their families to have them alive! No one knows what tomorrow will bring “Unforseen occurrences” happen to us all. Jimmy knew this and I know he had faith and hope to live again in paradise. That is what comforts many who knew him that grew up with him and most certainly his family. He deserves to be remembered and honored for his bravery, his faithfulness to his wife and children, his faith, and the untold people who whom he saved. I know that day he was doing just what he did everyday knowing the risk but to him saving lives was worth the risk. He was truly selfless and the very same handsome young man who had a crush on my friend.

I was a volunteer firefighter on 9/11 and even though I live on the other side of the country, I remember thinking that firefighters were lost as the towers fell. I remember thinking that maybe some of our brothers and sisters could have been lost as well. When the Watchtower article came out I learned that he had been lost as well. I will look forward to meeting him in paradise and I hope his family knows how much he was respected as a firefighter, father and a brother. Until that day comes…
