Jenny Woodall

Jenny Woodall has worked as a grief specialist with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation since 1998. She plays a key role in developing and implementing the Foundation’s programs for Fire Hero Families, including the Peer Support Program, annual Wellness Conference, virtual programming, and retreats for spouses, parents, siblings, and young adults. She recruits and works closely with presenters and facilitators to create dynamic programming that fosters growth, healing, and overall wellness. Jenny helps surviving family members share their stories through the bimonthly publication The Journey and the NFFF Grief in Progress podcast. She assists people in finding grief support, both through NFFF programs and by identifying resources in their local communities.

Jenny holds a master’s degree in human sciences, with a certificate in thanatology, from Hood College and a bachelor’s degree in special education from James Madison University. She is a certified Maryland Master Naturalist who enjoys exploring the natural world.

I am honored to work on behalf of the surviving families of fallen firefighters and to support and witness their strength, grace, resilience, and healing connections with one another.
