Miranda will be attending Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine to pursue her doctorate in medicine. Her career goal is to become a Medical Doctor. She attributes her academic achievement of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science to this moment possible thanks to the scholarships offered by the NFFF and its partners.
She currently volunteers with the Refugee Center for Children where she is part of a community support system serving mothers and children who recently immigrated to this country. Miranda feels these volunteer opportunities have allowed her to connect with the community she hopes to serve as a future physician. She also recently completed an internship aiding in free immigration services where she gained knowledge and experience petitioning cases for individuals who migrated to California.
Firefighter/Paramedic (Ret) Michael Carroll states, “Miranda is a determined, caring, and intelligent young lady who strives to do nothing less than her best in all that she does. It is my sincere belief that she will make an outstanding physician in the future and benefit society with her caring nature.”
