Fire Grants and Safety Act Signed into Law

Share

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation expresses our sincere gratitude to the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate, and the White House for their combined efforts that resulted in today’s signing into law of the Fire Grants and Safety Act (S.870). This achievement also culminates two years of advocacy by the Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI), its National Advisory Committee members, leaders of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus and committees of jurisdiction, other members of Congress, and fire departments and citizens across the United States.

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) and Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant programs deliver crucial federal support to fire departments across the nation. This critical funding helps to keep our nation’s communities—and the firefighters who protect them—safe.
