Phil Stittleburg joined the volunteer fire service in 1972 and has been Chief of the LaFarge Fire Department in Wisconsin for 25 years.

He serves as Chairman of the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), and as legal counsel for the NVFC, the LaFarge Fire Department, and the Wisconsin State Firefighters Association.

Chief Stittleburg is a member of the NFPA Board of Directors, is an adjunct instructor at the National Fire Academy, and is a regular contributor to Fire Chief Magazine. He is a Member of the Bar in Wisconsin where he practices law.
